6 Week Antenatal Course
Our 6 week antenatal course is run in small groups of no more than four couples. Keeping the group small means we can follow the needs of the people in the room and spend more time on the things that matter most to you.
Sessions take place in a relaxed home setting, with comfortable chairs and tea, coffee and biscuits throughout.
Our practitioners are NCT trained and have extensive experience facilitating groups that cater for all learning styles. Engaging activities help you get the most from each session, so that you finish the course not only with more knowledge, but also with a toolkit to help you manage labour, birth and life with your new baby.
A recent couple described the course as "informative and fun".
What the course covers:
Session 1: Hormones, physiology of pregnancy and birth, practical information, becoming a parent
Session 2: Informed decision making, assisted birth, caesarean birth, partner's role, self help
Session 3: Pain management, getting to know your baby, transition to parenting, feeding
Session 4: Newborn appearance, skin-to-skin, the 5 pillars of breastfeeding
Session 5: Baby's brain development, cues, formula and mixed feeding, safer sleep
Session 6: Postnatal recovery, advocating for yourselves, making plans, parenting
Please choose your course dates from the list above. Each booking is for one pregnant person and one birth partner of their choice.
The course runs over six weekly sessions. You will also have WhatsApp support for three weeks after your baby is born, and a postnatal get-together with your group is arranged separately once your babies have arrived. The November to December course is held at Central Cottage, Naunton Beauchamp, Pershore WR10 2LQ. Full details will be provided once your booking is confirmed.
Our course would normally cost £225 but we want to make our courses accessible for everyone, and as a not for profit organisation, we are able to offer the course at a price of £65.00. If you can't make every session, just let us know and we'll help you catch up.
If a group course isn't right for you, we also offer a 3 hour private antenatal session, either at our venue or in the comfort of your own home. This includes a postnatal visit and WhatsApp support for three weeks after your baby is born. Find out more and book your private session here.
